While Brock had been planning on getting his Masters of Finance at the University of Utah, he couldn't help applying for jobs just to see what would come up. He only applied at jobs he was really interested in, and most he interviewed for turned out to be not what he was looking for but I figured it was good practice. However, one he applied for he was excited about from the beginning - he applied early in the summer and was interviewed a couple months later. They must have liked him during the interview because they gave him the option of applying for the original job or a management training job. After talking about the latter position, he said that interested him more. He was offered the job around the 24th of July and accepted about a week later. The company is Select Portfolio and they are owned by Credit Suisse (no trips to Switzerland though.... dang it...). He is in the executive training program where he learns a different side of the company every three months; after a year of training he will be placed into one of the areas of the company.
It was really hard deciding whether to take the job or go to school. We both really value the educations we have and we know that any more we get will only make us better. On the other hand, we are really happy to be done with school for now and although we know he will go back and get his masters in a couple years, it's nice to be done with books, tuition, homework etc for the time being. Congrats Brock!! I'm so lucky to have such a talented motivated husband.

COngrats! Doesn't it feel great to be out of school? That is very exciting! Is the company based in Utah and do you think you will stay here for awhile (we hope so)?
I always knew Brock would be good at whatever he did. I liked your nice tribute to him Bonnie. You two are such a cute couple.
